Question need help

My stock 96psd does not seem to have as much power as it should. I drove a 2000 and there were no comparison. I have 4:10"s, changed the fuel filter, air filter, recently changed the cps and glow plugs last year. 120,000. miles. It has a blue/white smoke on startup sometimes, especially after sitting for several says. It is also hard to start sometimes for the first start in the am. I checked the hpop resivour and it is always full. All the glow plugs ohm out at .005 to .006 through the harness. I have never checked the relay though. Any help would be appreciated. There is so much info here it is hard to sort through it all.
Mike.

Glow plug relay would impact starting, but not running performance. If your voltmeter drops a bunch after you turn the key on, the GPR is working. I'm not surprised that there would be a noticable difference between a '96 and a '00; bigger injectors & all.

what kind of mods does your truck have?

fwiw sd injectors are a lot bigger than a stock 94.5-97 truck.
i suggest you do a few mods and wake that thing up.

I would also chech the GPR. I have a '95 that WAS a pooch until I did the exhaust. That will make a big difference. My '95 now will move now with the few mods. It will out run/pull my buddy's stock '01 psd. If it still doesn't have the power you're looking for after you do the exhaust consider some other mods.
