battery warning light question
I have searched the van forom and can't seem to find an answer- I have a '92 E150 club wagon w/ a 351V8. It sat for 1 1/2 yrs, now the battery idiot light stays on. I had the alternator tested at autozone, it said good, didn't believe them so I took it apart, and the brushes were very bad...
I can't find a junk yard match, so I had new brushes/holder put in at an electrical shop, and put a known good batttery in. The shop said it is charging, but still get no charge w/ a tester at the terminals, and batt light still on. I checked continuity from the hot lead to the pos term and it looks like it is ok, any ideas? Also checked the fuse box and alternate fuses by the battery box, all good...
