$700 diff clutch packs
I was quoted $700 at each of two dealerships for new differential clutch packs to eliminate take off chatter when making a turn. Is this something a local shop can do? Is this a normal price? sheesh, Can't afford this fix for a while anyway, Think it'll strand me?

I had serious LS chatter 3 years ago, 73,000mi. Had some engine work done and told the mechanic to put Mobile1 full synthetic in the engine, trans and diff plus Motorcraft LS additive. 97,000mi now towing heavy horse trailer and no chatter unless accelerating around a sharp corner with the trailer and it's very slight chatter and not all the time. Cost a lot less than $700.
