Can someone tell me what size glass fuse goes on the back of the headlight switch for a 12v system? I have a new switch for a '56 but it did not come with a fuse for the interior lights.
uk1050, what amperage fuse did you use? The switch is rated for 12 amps but the fuse is just for the interior lights so I would expect it to me a much lower rating. Its to bad Ford did not put the info on the wiring diagram or in the shop manual. Even my Operator's Manual is silent on the subject.

I checked the wiring diagram and the head light switch. The only wire connected to the fuse is for the dome light. I verified this with an ohm meter for continuity checks from the B terminal (from the Battery) to each terminal on the switch. With the fuse out there is no connection to the dome light wire. All other connections work.
I have installed a new wiring harness with a fuse panel so the head light switch and its branch circuits will be protected by the fuse panel, unlike the original wiring.
