Transmission Problems
I have a 2001 F250 4x4 with automatic trans. I left last week on vacation to the smokey mountains, I was pulling my 30' fifth wheel up into the mountains when I noticed smoke coming from my truck. I pulled over and transmission fluid was pouring out. I let it cool for 4 hrs. I lost 9 qts of fluid.I put the fluid in it and started the truck and there was no fluid leaking. I drove 1400 miles and did not leak a drop. Can anyone tell me what caused this and what I should do.

You must have over heated the tranny and boiled the fluid out the vent tube on top of tranny. You can change the fluid to a synthetic as this has a higher boiling temp and won't break down or get a extra tranny cooler
