Different day same old stuff!!!
My '94 F-150. 302 with E4OD has After many repairs and services I have what I believe was my original problem all over again. I started out several months ago with loud noise which sounded as though it came from under the hood at high speed, I first noticed it on a long interstate trip. It happens when I hit passing gear at lower speeds and at about 65-70 mph when I shut down the O/D. Sounds like a plane prop. I have had my driveshaft rebuilt and balanced, as the carrier bearing was going out. I have added Ford friction modifier to stop TC shudder which it did almost immediately and everything was fine until abouot 3 wks. ago when I had my water pump replaced. The truck runs great and mpg is averaging close to 14-15. Someone suggested the fan clutch, another said it could be either the smog pump, a/c comp. or p/s pump. Finally someone said the TC could be going bad and there are TSB regarding vibration in higher mileage trucks like mine. Any Information would be greatly appreciated. Emmett

I mistated my trans. type but since noone responded to my posst it's no big deal. I visited the transmission shop today and the owner took my truck for a drive. He said the Torque convertor and transmission are working perfectly. So now I am back where I started last fall. The noise/vibration is comiing from the engine or something running off the belt. How does one test the vibration damper?
