I have a 1972 F-100 Sport Custom with factory air that works. Should I keep it original? Is it worth something? It all original right now. The truck has EVERYTHING that was available that year with that year. (as far as I know anyways.) The motor is a 360 witha 2 barrel carb and a c6. What do you guys think about it? Thanks
Engine questions- what in the world are headers, glass packs, cherry bombs etc.? I know they work your exhaust to make it sound louder but HOW do they do that?
I'd keep it original. The only option my Sport Custom has is guages. Headers are perfomance exhuast manifolds, glass packs a are alternitive to mufflers. Mufflers have several chambers in them the deadenor muffle the noise. Glass packs are basicaly larger tubes with fibers glass in them. After a while the fiber burns out and basicaly makes a striaght pipe.
Glass packs have a less restrictive flow than conventional mufflers and will give a noticeable improvement to performance. Personally I always use the longest glass packs I can find. They give a really mellow sound without being obnoxious - until you stand on it.
