Big Blue: I didn't know you were so close to me! I'm taking it the last leg from Arlington to Redmond, you are more than welcome to ride with me. PM me and i'll send you my contact info.
Blue thats probably gonna depend on me, and what I find once I get the truck to my place and have a chance to look it over, but I will be letting Joe and everyone else know more after I see it.
LOL. I'm thinking it will long have been in Oregon by then, and probably completely stripped with full body off restoration under way. Got a few things in the works. We have a website now also, courtesy of a fellow FTE member, and fire truck relay fan. It has a temporary address assigned, but in 24-72 hours, it will be www.fire-truckin-across-america.org. I'm working on a NPO license still, and am also waiting for some replies from insurance companies. I have not heard from the trailer place in Iowa yet, and we may have to ask everyone on the club.
Ok if you don't hear from the trailer place I have found someone that will let me "borrow" one for that weekend so atleast I know that there will be a trailer although I would rather have one from either someone on here or the trailer place donating it.
No luck with either trailer place. One never replied, and the other sayed they'll sell it to me. I don't want to spend $3500 to move a truck 200 miles. Anyhow, looks like the web site's up. Check it out www.fire-truckin-across-america.org. I am hoping that this "trial run" will attract enough attention to do this annually. If it doesn't, I don't know if we'll be able to. St. Judes is sending me the sponsor info, I should have it by this weekend. I'll be continuing to work on the sponsorship flyer. We need to go get a new black ink cartridge tomorrow, and then I will print it out so that I can go get it copied for some local support, and then I will take it to my HR department at work. I will get access to my brother-in-laws Bank Of America account he offered to let me use for this, and then I will register my PayPal account to it. Here real quick, we're going to have to get everyone on a chat sessionor something to get the final organization down. Either that, or people need to start calling me, my number's up on the page. If you've got access on a trailer, take it. Hey guys, I appreciate everyone's efforts, and support in this idea. I think we are going to pull off the impossible. I hope we get a spot in the headlines, and maybe we will be able to move forward with a full blown Non-Profit.
