I'm new here, so I hope I am following proper etiquette.
I have a 92 F150 with a 5.8L EFI engine, automatic transmission and 135,000 miles. I recently changed the oil and spark plugs and the check engine light has been coming on ever since. Couple things I have checked: oil level and pressure are normal. Spark plugs are all connected and firing. I did break a very brittle vacuum line, but I have replaced that. The check engine light does not come on at idle. Only when I have reached about 10 MPH does it come on. I can start it and let it idle for ten minutes and it won't come on, but as soon as I start moving, it does.
I hope you have a sense of humor? I can't tell you how much time and effort I put into trying to find out why the idiot lights come on and go off. Unless you have all service performed by a dealer you'll have this problem. Seems they have the ability, the only ability, to reset the computer to not allow this to happen. Lights will continue to stay on. I've learned to ignore it. I know my vehicle and trust my maintenance performance. I hate to say it but the designers are attempting to force all of us to generate business for the dealers! Lee
If you pull the codes, the computer will point you in the direction of the problem. The light just doesn't come on for the heck of it. With these trucks, most all the diagnostic stuff can be done with a paperclip so the dealer doesn't even have to get involved.

Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.
I had this happen on a 5.0 after a tuneup. Like you, I broke one of the plastic vacuum lines running on the pass side of the engine. Look around both banks and the distributer to see if you might have another one broken ;-)
Since you say it's only after it warms up, also see if you didn't break or disconnect the temp sensor (front pass side)

go to your parts and buy a code reader. it costs $30 and will tell you all the codes (i.e. tell you why the check engine light comes on) and reset the computer...plus do all the other "majic" only "the dealer can do".............
1990 F-150 4.9 160,000. Whenever my check engine light came on, I replaced or adjusted the sensor giving the fault code and have had a 100% success rate. Have trust in the code readers!
