Tranny slip?

Had some problems with my transmission yesterday. I was driving on the highway at 75mph in overdrive, when with no sound or vibration the transmission disengaged and acted like it was in neutral. I dropped it into drive and it had no problem catching. About 45 minutes later i put it back in overdrive and it had no problem. Would this be a sign of time for a new tranny?(mine has 212K miles on it) or something less serious?
any info would help

that happened to my 88 bronco a lot... i needed a rebuild. could be some small factor though i would get it checked out, fluid and filter and all that.

I took it in to the shop today and turns out that i need a full rebuild. Does 1300 installed with a 1year 12000 mile warranty sound about right for a rebuilt tranny?

sounds like a good deal to me. thats how much i paid for at Cottman. except they ripped me off. make sure you trust whoever is rebuilding your tranny.
