Chebby convert

A couple years ago I got sick & tired of working on my weak-kneed 84 C10 Snottsdale, and wanted to upgrade to a 3/4 ton truck that WASN'T another 73-87 chebby (Scotty was my 3rd). I came across a 1990 4x4 auto (clapped-out E40D) F250 for $500 with a running 460 EFI, and I was sold. Towed it home 25 miles with my old 88 grand marquis because the engine ran & allowed me to use the power brakes, and then began my plans to gut the TTB & reaplace the driveline with a 2WD C6 for maximum thrift. That plan was cut short when I soon found a cheap 88 F250 2WD with a 351/C6, and I drove & worked on that truck for more than a year before my good ole mom totalled it in a lousy 3" of snow by running into a fire hydrant (her broken chebby caused all this of course).

I thought I'd have that 88 for years as my rusty-but-trusty hauler, but then I was faced with an emergency need for a truck. I was in the middle of moving, had alot of scrap built up already, and now I had to get 2 trucks and a car out of here before someone called the township on us. I ended up finding a terribly rusty & somewhat cheap 1991 F250 4x4 plow truck with a 351, but I had to have this crapper after seeing 2 floor shifters and a clutch pedal inside!

That's pretty much why I'm here now, the last month has been nothing but fixing this thing and I wanna feel good about it sooner or later. I haven't had (nor really wanted) a 4x4 since the 1980 blazer I had when I was 16, and now I get to speculate about how much fun my new old hauler might be when it's done. Sorry for the intro-turned-biography here, but I figure you all might as well know what sort of rusty journey I recently took part in..

see you at Silver Lake this summer,
Tyler

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Don't worry.. If I have any actual questions or anything else more specific to my truck & it's parts, it'll be in the proper forum. I'm a Michigan state-certified mechanic also, so you won't catch me posting any neophyte stuff that I could've looked up in the archives...
