I thought I'd have that 88 for years as my rusty-but-trusty hauler, but then I was faced with an emergency need for a truck. I was in the middle of moving, had alot of scrap built up already, and now I had to get 2 trucks and a car out of here before someone called the township on us. I ended up finding a terribly rusty & somewhat cheap 1991 F250 4x4 plow truck with a 351, but I had to have this crapper after seeing 2 floor shifters and a clutch pedal inside!
That's pretty much why I'm here now, the last month has been nothing but fixing this thing and I wanna feel good about it sooner or later. I haven't had (nor really wanted) a 4x4 since the 1980 blazer I had when I was 16, and now I get to speculate about how much fun my new old hauler might be when it's done. Sorry for the intro-turned-biography here, but I figure you all might as well know what sort of rusty journey I recently took part in..
see you at Silver Lake this summer,
Tyler

Don't worry.. If I have any actual questions or anything else more specific to my truck & it's parts, it'll be in the proper forum. I'm a Michigan state-certified mechanic also, so you won't catch me posting any neophyte stuff that I could've looked up in the archives...
