Speed sense can also be found at the PCM. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the passenger side firewall. The VSS wire is in the plug closest to the fender, pin 13 (gray/black).
Some nav units ask for your reverse wire as well. This is a positive black/pink wire in the drivers kick panel that goes to the rear.

Thanks to the both of you. tommyp you said the wire was in the radio harness. The only reason I think you found it there is because your factory radio must have speed adjusting volume, I'm not sure if my 03 has that, can you confirm. Whats the part number of the metra kit. I thought i'd might order the Scoshe FD1428 kit. You like the AVN5435, I have the AVN6600 on order but it has not been released yet.

Don't remember part number, it is a new number and i had to call Metra direct. Radio works great, gps is off about 2 houses. Shows address of house down the street. Other than that everything else is good. Ground parking brake wire and you can change navigation while driving, also play dvds.
