[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Jul-02 AT 11:14 AM (EST)]I've got a buddy who just recently bought a '69 4x4 F-150 4sp with the 360 ci. and collapsed front coils (2~4 coils laying flat against each other on each side) & busted cups (only bottoms I think). We've both been checking the local junk yards & are having no real luck. What, if any other, trucks or SUV's could we get these from without having to modify his any? He has no interest in lifting the truck or making any real changes. He tows with it and does still drive the truck pretty regular, but does no offroading at all, atleast not yet because of the springs & cups. I've been looking online & have found a few places to get some new coils to add lift, which he said he might be interested in if they're heavy duty, but can't seem to find cups any where. Money is money, and although isn't a grand issue, he doesn't want to spend an arm & leg on them (suggestion by one junkyard to have new cups fabbed at local shop). I,we, appreciate any & all ideas. Thanks, Thomas
The bottom "cups" on the 73-79 trucks will work. They're lareger in diameter by a fraction of an inch, but they will fit new springs for the same years if you use them. They will more than likely fit your existing springs with no problems. I'm not sure but it seems that the cups on the early broncos would also fit. There are tons of
"bronco graveyards" on the internet that you can order parts from. They only problem you would run into with the 73-79 cups would be that they have a slightly wider hole spacing where the two bolts go through and fasten it to the radius arms. That could probably be altered quite easily. I put a frontend out of a 78 bronco into my 70 F100 in February. That's how I know what all is different. Good luck.
