I don't think it was mentioned,so I must ask;was the speedo recalibrated for the new gears?That could be where the better mileage figures are coming from.I do agree that with tall tires,410's would/should give better mileage as the overall ratio would be closer to stock ratio.
My truck came stock with 3.07 gears and about 29" tires.
Right now I have 3.50 gears and 29" tires and when I figure out the mileage. I have to subtract 1 MPG. When it says I get 15, I know I'm really getting 14. Not that for off.
oh yes. i had a 93' 5.0 with hedman headers no cats and dual 3" pipes going to glasspacks with the k&n, superior engineered cold air homemade system, electric fan...even though it was lifted 4" on 35" tires that bad boy would take off like a rocket from a stop. it had stock gears. i beat a new chevy truck for a little while but he eventually caught up.
