I've been reading this board for a while, and have learned a lot. Thanks to all of you guys for sharing your knowledge.
I bought a computer engine software program, and have been toying with it a bit. I cant seem to find the factory Ford cam specs for my 86 F250 anywhere on the net. Can anyone tell me what they are?
I'd like as much detail as possible....Int centerline, lift, Duration @ .050, Exh centerline etc.
I've found so much aftermarket stuff my head spins, but stock Ford escapes me.
I've searched the library, and the Motor manuals have the old stuff, but not the newer ones.
Just trying to do before/after comparisons to see where to best spend my time and money.
I would not worry so much about the stock specs, and focus more on a cam/intake combo that fits how you use the engine and the RPMs where you want your power. 1986 - is that the EFI engine? If so, you are very limited on the cam selection as the EFI is very finicky about what it likes.
Yeah Its a carb motor. I can go on without knowing the factory specs, that was just for my own curiousity. I guess if I wanted to know bad enough I could get out there with a degree wheel and a dial indicator and figure it out myself, I just thought somebody might know the published numbers, instead of guessing. Thanks
