Brake lights mysteriously quit the other day. All lights have always worked (minus back up lights) and all lights still do other than brakes. Brake light switch is good, could my turn signal unit be bad, or would that result in other problems as well?
Thanks
AW

check your fuses, brake lite is on a seperate fuse. could be the wire from the brake light switch to the turn signal switch, but it is doubtful.

You should have a constant 12 V on one side of the brake switch (even with the key off). Then when the brake pedal is pushed, there should be 12 V on the other side. This power is then sent through a wire connector located under the dash, left side of steering column. The power is sent up through the turn signal switch back down to the tail light wires. If you have power going into column, when brake pedal is pushed, and nothing coming back out then it is your T/S switch.
