Gauge Temp
They tell you not to use telflon tape or plumbers pipe dope when installing Temp sender in to block,so what can be used on threads?? That's the one for temp of water to gauge on instrument panel.

You can use just a little bit of plumber's dope or silicone, permatex, etc. on just a few threads near were you put the wrench. You really probably do not have to use anything to make it seal.
The problem is you want to make good electrical contact from the sensor to the engine block. If you gob lots of sealer or tape on it, it will insulate the sensor from the block, and it will not work.
