Hey Gang!
I've finally rounded up everything to convert my 71 F100 2wd Sport Custom to power steering. I have a set up from a 1970 F250. Does anyone know if I need to swap out the entire column set up or can I get away with just changing the shaft out of the center? Also--any other glitches I should be aware of? I've mounted the pump and can't seem to get the lower attach bolt to line up with the tapped hole on the water pump--the other 2 holes line up and are tight--probably not a big deal because the pump doesn't move a bit when I push on it. Oh yea--what size steering belt is standard--I'm sure Autozone/O'reilly will give me a guess, but I'd rather hear it from you experts!
Thanks a bunch,
Tim
you will need the new column assembly as everything is shorter not just the center shaft. you will also need the bracket on the firewall that clamps the column. if you look closely at one from a power steering truck it has a big PS stamped on it because it is different. hawkrod
