Any rhymn or reason why the trans temp gauge on my 02 seems to monitor the ambient tempature when the truck hasn't started or moved for the last 18 hours? Got in the truck this morning and it was 60 degrees out side and the temp gauge was about 1/3 of the way up on the gauge. As soon as I drove a mile or two, the gauge got to it's normal position. Let truck sit for 5 hours and during that time a cold snap came through and it was 37 degrees when I stated it again...and temp gauge was near the bottom. As soon as I drove a mile or two, it was back at it's normal reading. My 03 pickup does not do this as at any outside temp, it's at the bottom of the gauge untill you start and move the vehical.
Anyway, what do you think could be faulty and has anyone else ever had this weid temp thing happen?
