This is how I did it. Worked great. I did alot of experimenting and this way was the cleanest, safest and quickest way for me.

As long as you can fumble around with your bandaged hands to twist the top off a frosty beverage.....you're cool. You might have to use a straw to sip it but the hands will heal in time. Hopefully by then you have killed off enough brain cells and will have forgotten this crazy idea of removing rivets.....
