yea towed a trailer back and forth from California to Texas several times. Used the cruise and ran the A/C. (August). The hills around flagstaff is the only time it ever kicked into a lower gear and then only for a minute. did real well. use it all the time.
I've towed our 35 ft. 1/5 whl about 20,000 +/- miles & use the cruise control a lot. In the steep hilly areas I take it out & then right back in in the flatter areas.
Also used cruise control all the time. 04 F-350 CC Lariat SRW. I haul 8-11K horse trailer (depending on the number of horses). No problems. Doenst even kick out pulling the big hills in arizona (only when people are going to slow).
I use the cruise control all the time, keeps me and my heavy foot out of trourble. However, when going up hill I like to keep my foot on the throttle pedal becuase it will kick off if your truck downshifts and the RPM's go up
We use cruse control all the time with our 8K Travel trailer. Never a problem. In fact, this cruse control is nice because it is able to keep the speed up on may average hills compared to other vehicles we have used.
