I'm more into the jack-stand and engine crane end of things, but that's alright....
I would NOT use lighter fluid on a sticker that was on a painted surface though....
Peel off what you can, and for the sticky leftovers use a plastic dish scrubbing pad and vegetable oil (believe it or not)
The scrubby rubs it off, while the oil not only prevents it from sticking back on - it prevents the scrubby from scratching the PAINT.
I didn't believe it either until I tried it the first time...
Go figure: KITCHEN STUFF!!!
Do this in warm weather for best results.
