It won't come outta park when you push the brake if key in run position it will come out of park if you just take the key out of the lock position. It will start in park and will start in neutral and drive fine. Was told it could be the neutral safety switch.

 

See if your brake lights are working.

The shift lock unlocks when it senses current flow to the brake lights.

 

Make sure all the fuses are good too.

 

Ok brake light switch not gettin juice and fuses good. Right turn signal also blinks dimmly and changed bulb. Did put juice to switch just to see if it would work and did come out of park that way. So ? is what to look for now??

 

Most Ford vehicles run right out of the fuse box to the brake switch. So if you do not have power at the brake switch, you need to trace that line back, and possibly check for power on the fuse terminals after you take the fuse out.

The later model pickup trucks also had another fuse box out under the hood. I do not know if the vans do or not.

 

F13, cruise disconnect switch, fire, recall, yada yada yada.....
