Better Alternator

Hi, I am a ham radio operator and all of my radios kill the batteries and alternators in my vehicles. My Escape is no exeption, does any one know of a bigger alternator that would fix this problem.

Thanks, Chris

If you use your radios a lot with the vehicle not running, I would mount a second deep cycle battery and a battery isolator.

These people are one of the many who sell higher output alternators.

Thanks

I will check out that link, and the batt. and iso idea sounds great. As per how many amps my radios pull 5-6 amps every time they transmit very few just monitoring.

you can also run a Capacitor like the ones for a stereo amp and it will help to keep the alternator from charging too much.
