302 Heads

About 4 days ago, I sarted on a rebuild on my 1967 F100's '76 302. I've got the bottom end built, with some nice .030 pistons, new bearings, high volume oil pump, high volume fuel pump, etc. I got the bottom end back together, but when i went to put the heads on, i noticed the centering dowels were missing. Looking at the block, you can tell that they weren't in there before either. I always wondered why I was leaking oil out of the bottom of my heads, i guess i know now. Anyone know where I can get the centering dowels at? The local parts stores are useless, and the guy down at the machine shop says he "might be able to dig some up" Which here in Louisiana means he won't even look.

Try MotorHaven, if they don't have them I saw some in either the Summit or Jegs catelog a while back.

Look for block dowels.
