Hey guys, I just finished going through ALL 385 or so posts on injector pump problems, but I still need to ask a question-- Problem: Crank but no start, power at both terminals at injector pump... fuel going into injector pump...NO fuel coming out of injector lines!! removed pump with some effort (ha-ha) now when I spin the pump around by hand, there is a clicking sound and there is no noticeable sucking from supply side (back middle port) what gives? Please help with any comments or suggestions
mholiday01,
Welcome to FTE and the IDI diesel forum.
My first guess would be the FSS (fuel shutoff solenoid) has failed.
Attach a ground to the pump housing and apply battery voltage to the front terminal on the drivers side of the IP.
You should hear a faint click as it opens and closes with the application and removal of power to the terminal.
hey Dave, I just did what you said to the pump, and you are correct, when 12V is applied to the front terminal, a click is heard. What does that mean? Does that have anything to do with the clicking when I spin the cam end? thanks, Mike
