alrighty...so i know it isn't a ford but i just need some general clutch information (i don't know a lot about this). the question comes about because my brother's mitsubishi eclipse's clutch stopped working. he hit down the pedal and heard a click and then shazam, no clutch. again, i know it isn't a ford but i am mainly looking for general ideas so i have a bit of knowledge when i check it out tomorrow. is there a clutch cable that could have broken or something? thanks for any suggestions.

alrighty...if anyone is interested, it just needed a clutch kit. old clutch and pressure plate went bad. now, though, it drives good except for 2nd gear, which grinds a bit when i shift into it. any thoughts? again, i know this isn't the mitsubishi forum (which was very unhelpful), but i am just looking for ideas and don't expect a blow by blow procedure. thanks everyone.

Does it have a slave cylinder on the clutch? I dont know cars, but on my 87 mazduhh b2200 ($40 pos, but it ran/drove ) the slave cylinder was shot, and it leaked.
I "fixed" it by just adding more dot-3 fluid to the cylinder, and checking it often
I would have blead it, but the bleader was rusted pretty good... The friction point was about 1" off the floor (i had about 6" of travel, total)... Very minimal clutch "feel"
Bleed it, that might be the easiest... If that doesnt work, Id try that cable.
I know how it is with forums like yours... The forum I was into c-noching the frames, and bagging them... That, and audio crap.
the slave seems to be doing good. i bled it well...maybe i should redo that just in case. there isn't a clutch cable unfortunately....i need to make sure i have the fluid topped off but if that doesn't work, is there anything that could need adjustment?
