2002 rearend woes continue
Well, I got about a year out of my new 3.73 rearend in my 02 4wd. Had it replaced last March for the whine at speed. Had it back in two weeks later for leaks out of both ends which they claimed were the wrong axle seals. Now it's leaking in the driveway again. I'll be taking it back in as soon as I get my backup car fixed, but man, does it ever end? Bill is making it hard for me to preach his gospel. I'll keep ya'll posted and hope everyone else is having better luck.

There is a website that talks about this issue and provides a solution with a part # for a kit. rec.autos.makers.ford.explorer. I just purchased one myself, an 02, exploerer with the same whine. They listed part # 5L3Z-4209-C. My name is Geordie, just signed on today and can't figure out how to do the intro. My user name is designmaster.
