O2 sensor differences?

Hi, don't know if this is the right forum for this question, but I apologize if it is.

I'm wondering if there is a difference in harness ends on o2 sensors between 87-96 F-150 5.0 engines. And between 2, and 4 wheel drive trucks. Maybe even different transmissions, not sure where the difference lies, but the sensor from my 89 f-150 5.0/5 speed 4x4 won't plug into my '92, with 5.0/5 speed 4x2. If it matters, the '92 is supercab/shortbed-89 is reg. cab/longbed.

I'm curious as to what other truck's o2 sensors will interchange with mine.
(i work at a salvage yard, so I can pick and choose from several trucks)
Thanks, and again, sorry if this is the wrong section..

The 89 has a three wire sensor, and the 92 has a 4 wire sensor. Both have a hot wire and a ground for a heating element made into the sensor. So that's two of the wires on both sensors.

The 89 sensor has one signal wire going back to the computer, while the 92 uses two signal wires going back to the computer. It looks like they changed this around 1991.

If you want an easy way to find what fits what, go to www.partsamerica.com, and plug in a certain model year truck and look up a part for it. Write the number down, and then go and look another year truck up, and see if they use the same replacement part. That will tell you if they interchange.
