Differential temperature
I'm curious to know if anyone else has had a similar problem with the differential cover paint peeling from excessive heat. The original cover got so hot it blistered the paint on the cover. The Ford dealer agreed that the cover needed to be replaced, but needed permission from FMC to replace it since it required adding new oil to differential. The cover was replaced and there doesn't appear to be any serious problems, but the new cover looks like it may be experiencing excessive temperatures. My truck is an '03 6.0L.
