I know a person that wants to put a set of rims on his truck but is worried about the front hubs being in the way. Is it possible to remove the hubs or can you get a smaller auto locking hubs. Its a 1994 with auto locking hubs already but it has limited rim choices because the hubs are too large.
I dont think there are many options as far as downsizing the hub size. Im assuming your refering to the hubs interfering with the center caps that come with rims. However, 90% of the aftermarket wheels that ive seen for these trucks have open center caps available for the front so they will work with the hubs. If you want the front and back to both have closed center caps, you will have to go to 2wd.
warn makes a driven flange for the dana 44 and 60 for the full floating axle kits. i seen a f150 in tellico last year with them on the front. he still had to use an open center cap because the bearing hub itself was to long for that kind of rim. but the flange itself was flush with the bearing hub. kenny
