temp

my temperature gage wont work I put a ne sending unit on the intake hoping that would fix it but it still doesnt move does any body know where the sending unit for the gage is. The one on the intake made it run better and the check engine light go off.

it should be on the lower intake near where the lower and upper intake come together near the distributer. Dont be confused between the ATC (air temperature Charge sensor) and the sending unit fot the temp gauge sensor. I cant say which is which though I foreget but I think the ACT is on the side of the inatke.

On second thought I think the correct sending unit you are looking for is on a pipe comming out near the thermostat near the disributer of the front of the engine.

well.... good luck hope this helped.

Make sure you changed the right sensor. We need more information in terms of what engine you have. The V8's have a single wire sensor hidden around the #1 injector in the intake manifold. That one controls the gauge.

It is a v8 the sensor i replaced is the one in front of the #1 injector the sensor goes into a little brass fitting that comes off the intake. Its a two wire sensor that I replaced and the gauge still does not move at all when the key comes on. i do have two loose plugs under the dash but there is no where for them to plug in at. I wpuld appreciate anything that will keep me from having to pull the dash apart.

Is the temperature sensor the one on the driver side of the intake with one brown wire coming off of it.

Two wires = ECT. That's the one the computer uses to monitor coolant temp.

One wire = sender for the dash gauge. That's the one you want.
