More Questions!

What is an intercooler and what benefit is it???
Would '99 injectors fit in a '97???
If so would they make a difference??
Would mileage be compromised with them?
Are there cheap, easy to install chips out there for a small gain(like 50hp)??

Thanks again
Adam

An intercooler cools compressed air from the turbo to give the engine a more dense amount of oxygen.
Yes the superduty (7.3 & 6.0) intercoolers will fit but there is a little cutting and you have to get different pipes.
They make a difference if you tow a lot, ~100 degree egt drop when towing. Also I have heard of an increase in mpg ~1.

Cheap, easy to install chips. Well you could plug in a programmer like edge or superchips, or take out the PCM and clean some contacts and plug in a chip from DP tuning or Tony Wildman (much better imho). Both will run you about $400.

Adam ive been told the 99-03 7.3 powerstroke injectors will work in urs and mine 97 but u have to get the computer, as for the hp gain that i cant help ya with, do away with the stock air box go with a cold air intake or homemade one as for the exhaust get a true dp like i need to get, what size exhaust do u have on it currently, also is urs a 1 ton or 3/4 ton and what size tires are u running on it, i know mines a 3/4 ton i know some will differ on me about this that 235/85R/16 and 265/75R/16 are the same height just wider will i went with the 265s and it threw my speedometer off 3 to 4 mph so that might not mean much in the gear ratio but i have 4:10 gears too, do the stacks ull love it and get a 2 to a 6 position chip have it programmed the way u want it and as for the DP get it from Tymar too. the 99 injectors are very similar to the 97 cali injectors. your truck would run quieter and have more power.

you can run splits on single shot prgramming
but not singles on split programming

what does that mean:
(if i am not mistakin)
your pcm with splits will work fine.

why not just get single shot injectors like stage 1's?

what is cheap for a chip? i paid 300 for mine and got a ts 4 pos adjust on the fly with 50,75,100 anf fuel 7 settings.
works great with bigger injectors too.

see your other post i commented in there. dont waste your time on 99 injectors.
97 california trucks and 99-03 trucks all have splits shots. single shot injectors is where its at. they just need to be modified a little. trust me on this. besides split shots need more hpo oil to run and you will need a 99+ hpop which is about 400 bucks.

save your money see my other post in your other thread.
