I don't know much about transmissions but know a person that has been having trouble with theirs. They have a 70 half ton with an automatic transmission. When going from park to drive or reverse or going from reverse to drive there is a big klunk and you can feel it while sitting inside. He says that he does not think that it is a tranny mount. Is there some adjustment that could be made.
thanks for any help
brad
Mine does this sometimes going from park to reverse, but not in any other gears. I have a C6 w/ 390 on a 72 F100. Where exactly in the rear can we check?
some of them just seem to have a lot of slack in the rear end. block the wheels, take the truck out of park, and turn the drive shaft. see how far it will turn each way. i have seen them with as much as 1/2 round of slack in them. some times they will realy bang when going into gear.
