I recently added a compass/temp Gentex mirror to my 2002 F250. I needed a keyed power source. I bought a fuse tap and used the customer access fuse. I since found out from reading here about the customer access wire under the dsah. I will be switching over to that wire soon.
Problem I ran into with the fuse tap was it wouldn't allow me to put the fusebox cover back on. A ridge inside the cover that keep fuses from falling out hits on the fuse tap. You could I guess, cut into the cover and remove that ridge but I didn't want to. I stored the cover looking for a better solution. I found one but wondered what I could do should I ever need a fuse tap again?
Also, I needed to run the temp probe out through the firewall to front of radiator. There was a plastic cover over a hole in the firewall that might be for a clutch equiped F250. I ran the insulated wire thorugh here and covered the hole as best I could. Wonder where one could get a rubber body plug to dress this up a bit. Looks like about a 2 inch hole.
