? Regarding potential stray draw off batteries

Hi fellas,
I went out to start the truck a while back and batteries were dead. Figured they had lasted a long time and it was time for new ones (I checked all connections and they were all clean and corrosion free). About a week later, same deal...dead batteries. I went ahead and charged both batteries and have not had an issue yet. I am guessing that I was lucky and just needed to charge up the new batteries as they must have sat for some time. However, I have found several posts on related if not identical issue(s) that mentioned alternator failure and/or stray current draw on the batteries. I disconnected both batteries and connected the multimeter between the + terminal and the + cable. ~220mAs (with everything off). I have read in here that anything over 100mAs is too much. Is this true? If so, I will start pulling fuzes to minimize the size of the haystack I am looking in....

BTW: For my own curiosity, I removed the alternator and had it tested at the local NAPA and they said it was fine.

Thanks in advance for any input.....

Craig
