I put in a new starter switch. All went OK until I tried to start the truck. What I found was that when I turn the key all the way to crank it over it cranked fine except that it would not keep running when I released the key. I have 3 wires. 1 is hot all the time (bat) one from the coil and 1 from the solenoid. Any idea what is wrong? I'm almost ready to cut the roof off the truck, fill it with dirt, put it in the frony yard and make it into a giant planter box for my wife. Any hel is graetly appreciated.
The switch back is labeled-Bat/Ign/Starter/Acc.........I have hot lead to Bat (always hot), if I reverse the other 2 wires nothing happens. I know that someone out there knows exactly what I did wrong.or what I forgot! Help is appreceited.
I got your PM, the mystery wire that you have loose, does it have a conector on it? On the back of the ign switch do you have any wires hooked to the center post? Your mystery wire may be one of the wires that bolt to the center post. My truck has 3 wires bolted to the back.
