I'm changing over to power disc brakes on my 67. all I have left are the brake pedal and lines. but thats my question how much of the brakes lines do I need? It doesnt look as though the lines on my 67 will work (when I say lines I mean from the master cylinder all the way down to the front wheels.) So do I need to take them all? by the way the doner is a 74.
From what I've read you need to upgrade to 3/8's brake lines. You need to go up in size so that it can handle the extra pressure that the power brakes have. Front and rear line replacement is recommended. Just my 2cents worth.
I was going to use the lines off the doner since they were off the power system and ditch the old ones of the manual system. Do I need to change all the rear lines as well?
I have never seen any Ford, Chevy, or Dodge truck with 3/8 hydraulic brake lines.
I have seen 3/16 and 1/4.
All brake lines handle the same amount of pressure. The difference is volume, you need more fluid volume for the larger dual piston calipers. For a 1967 or 1974 all you need is regular 3/16 steel lines.

Sorry about that. I am obviously suffering from O.F.C.R.S. disease. I thought it was 3/8 when actually it's either 3/16 or 1/4 inch stainless steel lines I was thinking of. The old forgetter kicked in late that night.
