Computer problem Need help

Computer problem Need help

Hey guys I am having a computer issue with this site only. Heres the problem I click on a thread under a certain forum lets say General Discussion an this shows up. Internet explorer cannot open the internet site thread no. so an so. Operation aborted. Have no clue on why this is happening. Can you help me out guys. What can I do to correct this.? Thanks for your help.

strange... download Opera and see if it's browser related, or ISP related. I use Opera all of the time, and couldn't be more satisfied.

Sorry thats for cell phones isnt it. Wont work. Any more help out there. I amgreek to computers unfortunatly.

Open IE. Left click on the "Help" button at top right tool bar. Left click "About Internet Explorer."

CAUSE
This error message may occur if any of the following conditions is true: • Multiple copies of the Wsock32.dll file are installed on your computer.
• An incorrect version of the Wsock32.dll file is installed on your computer.
• If you try to view a file (file://) you do not have permissions to view.
• Intermittent connection problems, low system resources, and dropped connections while attempting to load the Web page.
• You are using America Online as your Internet service provider, and there is not a Dial-Up Adapter installed, but there is an AOL Adapter.
• Unable to resolve the DNS name, or the DNS server returned an error.
• Corrupted cookies can also cause this issue with Internet Explorer 5.
• The Internet Explorer connection settings for the dial-up connection are configured to use a proxy server.

Thanks for the help. Ill check out your different causes. All I know no other site I visit except this one has this problem Either this site has changed because I have done nothing to my computer. Like I said I wish I was more computer smart to do half the stuff you say. Maybe i should call somebody to help me step by step figure out what is wrong. Its terrible to have a computer an not be able to use it because off a problem. I need a help site.

Type this into your search engine (like google) "Internet explorer cannot open the internet site" and follow the links to the support site for microsoft. The only way to learn to fix something is to ask and research.
