Bits and pieces... very cheap.
I wound up ordering parts from several suppliers, but found a few specific bits at autozone [on their web store at least] that were about half what the other discounters are charging. Cloyes timing set [heavy duty steel gears] is only $39, everywhere else is $75+, Melling lifters $1.99 each instead of $3.80+, Melling pushrods $1.49 each instead of $2.25, oil pump pickup tube/ screen $14 instead of $25, felpro rubber valve cover gasket $5 instead of $8.
The lifters I went to pick up in person, and at the store they rang up $3.85 while they were only $1.99 on the website. They were busy [Sat. afternoon] so the manager didn't put up a fuss, just told the clerk to do a price override.
The oil pump screen rang up at the "advertised" $12.99 so no problem there. It dawned on me then that some of the prices they have up on the web must be their cost and not retail. Either that or they're just not selling much in the way of 300 parts and just want to get rid of the stuff. This could hold true for most of the parts which are 300 specific, but the lifters fit many different Fords.
Whatever the case... do your homework and look for deals, they are to be had.
