Ignition timing for 302

I had the timing set at 10º on my '72 302 and just for the hellofit I bumped it up to 15º. It feels stronger and I can't hear any pinging (although my hearing is very poor)...but does this seem right?

The book calls for 6 degrees BTDC but I say whatever works for you. How did you get the little degree symbol?

when you tow heavy be careful and watch your temp to on hot days advancing your timing does increase eng. temp. also higher octane can make it more fun too.
