injector question

when i was rebuilding my engine i had noticed that one of the holes that the injector tip goes through in the head, was oblong. anybody seen this, or had this happen. im kinda curious of why its like that. the only thing i can think of was that an injector hold down bolt came loose and let it wobble. it was on the same cyl. that had a broken rod, but there is no damage to the old piston or the injector tip. so im ruling out the pistion theory. anybody have any ideas?

Just one of them was oblong? That's strange. I wouldn't think that even if a bolt was loose, it would let the injector wobble enough to enlarge the hole. Plus, wouldn't something be leaking by that odd shaped hole?

yea i got to thinking that theres probably no way the injector could wobble as tight as it is. the copper washer is barely big enough to cover the hole. its very obvious that its not round. i got the heads magnafluxed and there was no problems with it though. the more i think about it the more worried about it i get.

your best bet is to pull the injector sleeve and start fresh with a new one.
