84 steering coloum

Morning all and Happy easter
I am just on my way to pickup a 1984 f150 4x4 I'll put it on the trailer. My question is how do I change the ignition lock as the keys were lost to this truck. Or if the ignition lock cannot be changed, will a steering coloum from a 2 wheel drive fit. I was told the ignition lock has been changed before but the guy couldn't remember if it was the whole coloum or just the lock.
Or do I just drill out the lock and use a screwdriver to start it and not worry. And how do I do that?
I don't worry about people stealing vehicles around here to much. Keys are almost always in the trucks.
Thanks in advance guys.
Duncan

Take a chisel or large screwdriver and a hammer and break the old one out. You cannot get it out the normal way without the key. Then you can go to the parts store and buy another keyswitch tumbler assembly with new keys. They are only about $14.00.
