So today the telescoping gauges went to use and unlike the book specs a wider bore was found from front to rear on some of the bores. Rather than the work side of the piston. The thrust bearing had pockets in the base and sheet slices on the sides also I found areas on the crank that seem to show that the rod had come in contact with the counterwieght..??? I can take pictures.. just looking for insight before I go to the machinist with my stuff.
The bores were 4.0000 mostly with a max of 4.0060 in wear area of 6,7,8 horizontal (front-rear).
can give more info if needed..
Redmanbob,
Ok, what does the thrust suface on the crank look like. Almost sounds like the crank has been pushed forward a little because of the clutch. Keep in mind most of the cylinder taper is going to be in the top 3/4 inch of the bore but thats the part that matters. The rest of the bore will be close to standard except if it's really really shot. Most of those holes are .001 out of round from the factory anyway.
