I just finished building a sucka for the EEC and I was trying to check it out and it seems that the Ref voltage coming from pin 26 is Neg. (-) 5 volts and of course everything on the sucka is for +5 Volts.
Unplugged the EEC and plugged in a PCM from a 95 F150 to check my wiring and it has +5 Volts Ref Voltage.
Is the 86 BII (Code RC1) the only EEC that has neg. 5 volts ref voltage?
If I remember the whole lesson in Chemistry on voltage, -5 volts is the same as +5 volts, just running the wrong way. Sounds as if something is reversed?

No I left the setup the same, just plugged in the other EEC (ECU) and pin 26 of the breakout box had the opposite polarity.
AH. Okay. I looked up some info on EEC-IV tuners/tuning, and it seems (AS USUAL) anything tuning/performance related is always pointing at V-8s or cars in general -- not something like a BII or Ranger. It would, though, be pretty kickass to dump the program file somewhere where you can look at it, edit it it, then flash it back to the computer's EPROM instead of paying for a chip that plugs into the service port. Ah, well. *shrug*
