I have a '71 F250 that I bought with 265/75R16's mounted on what looks to me to be the original 16" wheels. Are these wheels 16x7's? What are the widest tires I can mount on these wheels? Does anybody make aftermarket wheels that will fit these trucks? If so, who sells them? Thanks for the info...

Just about all the wheel manufacterer's make wheels that will fit. American Racing is one of my favorites, Weld Racing is another, Ultra has some good ones, Mickey Thompson, there are more but I can't think right now. Those wheels are probably either 16x6 or 16x7 and the widest that will fit is around 11 in, anything wider and I would switch to 16x8.

 

My 70 F-250 came with 16.5". Has anyone had problems using 16" wheels with the disk brakes?

 

I switched to American Racing 16x8 and had to grind a little
off the caliper and wheel to clear wheel. I only found this
after I installed new front brake pads.

 

I have the 16" white wagon wheels and have no problems with them on my '72 with disc and heavy duty axles.
