I am going to be replacing the cab mount/bushings on my 95 F150 in the near future. I would like to know if any one has any tips on doing this. Do I need to replace the bolts with new ones from the dealer? I know many times people recommend replacing the bolts for suspension work. I did for my rear leaf springs. Any suggestions are appreciated.
As long as the bolts don't snap, twist, stretch, or get damaged on the way out you can reuse them. Soak them in a degreaser if you need to, then take a look at them.
The way I've replaced body bushings, radiator support bushings and bed bushings, is to undo the bolts on one side, or the front, and loosen the opposite side (or back), and jack the body off the frame on the area you took the bolts completely out, using a floor jack with a 2x8 "extension", just enough to get the bushing out. Then replace it, then lower the body down on it to hold it in place, then insert bolt
