I am rebuilding a 460 for my 75 F350 I got it from a 79 F150 donor truck. The donor truck has tilt steering W/cruise I dont figure I can use the cruise anymore but I would love that tillt steering, Can I install it from the gear assembly up or will I need to swap the pump too I think but am not sure that they are the same any help on this one???
P-l-e-a-s-e do not disgard the rest of the cruise control stuff. The speedo cable(s), under hood vacuum lines, bracketry, and under dash modules (tilt wheels, too) are hard to find (at least around here).
Skippy
Wow if it's there I don't know what the hell it looks like but I guess I will have to look a little closer I do know that my 75 does not have it I don't think I can ever use it cause I switched carbs to an Edelbrock
it has a linkage comin out of it and it looks like a canister, kinda, has wires goin 2 it, mounted on the firewall right in broad sight, hard to miss, its attactched to the carb,

Yeah I've seen that canister in there cool .. the steering wheel is perfect I may just use it cause my 75 has that small aftermarket wheel that always has that stupid wire hanging out cause the last guy figured he would use it for the horn but there isn't one
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE SIZE OF THE STAR SOCKET THAT WILL REMOVE THE RAG JOINT? ....... It turns out that the 75 is actually missing it's original bolts or someone did something to it but I figure I would put it back right
Thanks I drove to tool town just to figure that out when looking at those 12 nuts ya think damn how do I get that out but of course it was much simpler than I had thought. Now the task to see if I can install the cruise control but I'm not using the original carb so I think that may shoot it in the foot!
Not a problem I already have the tranny out and the block is in the machine shop. That is what makes this so ideal is I got plenty of working room. I have been trying to get as much done in there as possible. I couldn't see any reason to change the power steering unit itself except the one in the 79 F150 has less miles, but I will still have it as a spare. I did notice a plugin on the tranny from the 79 that must have been for the cruise control cause the 75 does not have it. I would probably have to use that c6 if I can figure out how to get the cruise control hooked up.
