Edelbrock to replace Ranchos?

I have an 05 FX4x4 PSD and don't like the ride of the OEM Ranchos on this truck. I also have the camper package. The ride seems to have gotten worse in the past 10K miles - I now have 50K on the truck.

I see where a lot of people have suggested Bilsteins, but they are not yet available for the 05/06 (should be soon though). Also, Bilsteins are ugly blue and yellow and danged expensive. Edelbrock makes a nice looking shock at half the price and the sales rep at eshocks said it was a good shock and should improve my ride.

Here's the question - Has anybody tried these and secondly, can I really expect to improve the ride on this truck? My biggest complaint is that the Ranchos are too stiff and they hop over bumps really bad in corners.

By the way - I'm all stock and don't do much off road. I pull a fairly light trailer of 5000 lbs. Almost all my driving is highway.

Why don't you try some Monroe Reflex shocks, I have had them on both my 3/4 tons (1990 and 2000 SD) and my wifes expedition, they work well on and off road, not too stiff, and ride nice on the highway. Also check your tire pressure also, I would not run max load unless loaded heavy.
