This only happens on start-up and when I slowly take off. It's a very shallow rattling under the hood, sounds like it would be a heat shield but I don't have those on my manifold. It's not a loose loose rattling but more of a I'm a lil loose. Perhaps the shield on the bottom of the Exhaust ? The rattling goes away as soon and I move it about 30 yards, it's not that loud though, but noticable.

This started after I put a new motor in my truck myself, I traced the Hood Mounts w/ a Sharpie so I could re-align the same way as before, I did that and it was way off on the edges by the finders so I visually perfected it. But now the hood will go down but not lock, and on the drivers front side of the hood it sticks up like a 1/2 inch and won't go down, I can't tell what its hitting. I even took out my Road Jack Bars and Mount and it did the same thing. The Hood open/close switch was a little loose but not bad, I'm stumped. I don't see any dents or scratches on the bottom of my hood except for the driver side rubber bumper that made some marks when people slammed the **** out of it at a Ford Dealer.
the easist way to realign the hood is to start by removing the locking mechanism you can raise and lower the hood with out the lock moving the hood side to side.
Also lower the hood bumpers down alittle.
After you have the hood aligned to your fenders the way you want them put the latch mechanism back in.then adjust the the lock bar in the middle of the slot on the lock .
Now just adjust height up/down to where you want it.
Now the above is if you didn't remove the fenders and mess with there alignment to the bodu and the rad core support.

The rattle is a valve train lugging type rattle?
The hoods aligned left to right on the fenders....I'll play around w/ the bumpers I guess. How to you raise and lower them ? You can't get to the bottom of them and is that big rubber top piece removable ?
